Doris "DoeDoe" Francis Garrett, 80, of Butterfield, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at the Cox-Monett Hospital in Monett.
She was born on Oct. 22, 1928, in San Francisco, Calif., daughter of Daniel and Lillian Fae (Chambers) McLaughlin. She was united in marriage to Randy P. Garrett in 1951 in San Francisco, Calif. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to the Butterfield area. She worked most of her life working as a cook in several different cafes such as M&L Cafe, Red Wood Inn Cafe, and the Bounus Truck Stop. Her last employment was cooking for Anita's Pizza in Cassville.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979.
Survivors include: two sons, Randy Garrett, and his wife, Shay, of Butterfield, and Ronnie Garrett, and his wife, Lisa, of Sapulpa, Okla.; two daughters, Alice Clark, and her husband, Jerry, of Butterfield, and Darlene Allen, and her husband, Lloyd, of Butterfield; two sisters, Helen and Evelyn McLaughlin, of California; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Georgie Jinti; two brothers, Bobby and Harry McLaughlin; two sisters, Alma McLaughlin and Dorthy Beam; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services were held on Saturday at the Butterfield First Baptist Church in Butterfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family and may be entrusted to the White Funeral Home in Cassville.
