Rounders to entertain rodeo crowds The Rounders Quadrill Team from northwest Arkansas will entertain community members who attend the Cassville Rotary Club's 72nd annual rodeo at Bill Hailey Arena on June 19 and 20. Mary Kathryn Bryant, daughter of James Bryant, of Cassville, is a member of the squad.
The Cassville Rotary Club's 72nd annual rodeo will be held at the Bill Hailey Arena at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20.

"Due to the situation with the economy we are offering tickets for children between the ages of 6 and 12 at $2 instead of $4 this year," said Stan Kelley, who is serving on this year's rodeo committee with Dennis Baker, Johnnie Cox, Pete Landstad and Dr. Eugene Miekley. "The Rotary Club reduced the price for children to help families who want to attend the rodeo.

"When you purchase advanced tickets from a Rotary member this year you will also get a $2 discount on adult tickets instead of the $1 discount that has been offered in the past," said Kelley. "The Rotary Club thought a good way to give back to the community this year would be to offer tickets at a reduced price so that everyone can enjoy the rodeo."

In addition to watching over 100 cowboys and cowgirls compete in seven action-packed events, this year's IPRA/ACRA-sanctioned rodeo will feature performances by The Rounders Quadrill Team from northwest Arkansas.

"The Rounders display quality horsemanship, pride, teamwork and enthusiasm in their performance," said Kelley. "The group contains young women with tremendous ability and determination."

Among The Rounders team members is Mary Kathryn Bryant, daughter of James Bryant, of Cassville.

Hampton Rodeo Co., of Springdale, Ark., will provide the quality rodeo stock for the event again this year. Comedic entertainment will be provided by Ron "The Ice Man" Hunter.

Rodeo attendees will be treated to the following events: bareback riding; saddlebronc riding; bull riding; calf roping; team roping; steer wrestling; and cowgirl barrel racing. A calf scramble will be held nightly for children under the age of 10.

"We hope to provide a quality and exciting rodeo for the fans in the community" said Kelley. "Cowboys from many different states will be arriving in Cassville to participate in this year's rodeo. We will again have some of the top 10 ranked cowboys performing in their respective events.

"The rodeo will have beautiful horses, quality stock and good performances each night," said Kelley. "The Rotary Club invites all community members to come see some fast action and exciting rodeo performances."

Adults attending the rodeo event will be admitted for $8 per person, and children who are between the ages of 6 and 12 will be admitted for $2. Admission is free for children under the age of 6.

Rodeo tickets can be purchased in advance from any Cassville Rotary Club member and at many of the local banks.

The Bill Hailey Arena is located on Business 37 north of Cassville.
