Patricia A. "Tony" Henbest, age 75, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, following a brave battle with cancer. Mrs. Henbest, daughter of George Morton and Hazel (Irwin) Joslin, was delivered by Dr. Stephen A. Newman on February 5, 1934, in the Ben Irwin Hotel in Cassville. She graduated from Cassville High School in 1952.
On May 27, 1976, she was united in marriage to Laverne L. Henbest. he preceded her in death on June 24, 1978. Patricia was employed as a Certified Nurse Assistant and retired from the Barry County Care Center after more than 20 years of service. She was a member of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls Assembly Chapter No. 37 and over a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Celestia Chapter No. 81 holding several past positions as Past Worthy Advisor and Past Worthy Matron. Mrs. Henbest was a member of the Cassville First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: her sister, Nancy England, and her husband, Charles, of Cassville, Missouri; two nieces, Lynn England Hempen, and her husband, Kenny, of Joplin, Missouri, and Tracy England Rampy, and her husband, Steve, of Overland Park, Kansas; three great nephews, Tyler Hempen, of Joplin, Missouri, and Zach and Luke Rampy, both of Overland Park, Kansas; and one great niece, Kaylee Hempen, of Joplin, Missouri.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 31, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the White Funeral Home in Cassville, Missouri, with Reverend Lee A. Porch officiating. Burial followed at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Cassville or to the Order of the Eastern Star Celestia Chapter No. 81 and may be entrusted to the White Funeral Home in Cassville.
