Larry Kent Weatherly, 72, of Shell Knob, formerly of Aurora, passed away Monday, May 25, 2009.
He was born on Sept. 15, 1936, in Fresno, Calif., to Vernon and Elaine (Horner) Weatherly. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a graduate of Cassville High School and of the University of Missouri in Columbia. He was a 30-year employee with Kraft Foods, longtime resident and a farmer. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Shell Knob. On Feb. 2, 1957, he married Shirley Joan Hale in Columbia, and she survives.
Additional survivors include: one daughter, Cheri Woodson and her husband, Ken, of Rogers, Ark.; three sons, Greg Weatherly and his wife, Cindy, of clinton, Okla., Vince Weatherly, of Aurora, and Jeff Weatherly and his wife, Tiffany, of Little rock, Ark.; his siblings, Jane Harvey, Melaine Tichenor, Paul Horner, Mike Horner and Pat Horner; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, annette Weatherly.
Funeral services were held May 27 at the United Methodist Church of Shell Knob. Burial followed at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
