James Junior Woolard, 87, of Bentonville, Ark., passed away Saturday, May 23, 2009, in Brandord House, Bentonville, Ark.

He was born Feb. 5, 1922, in Bethpage, the son of Hiram (H.C.) and Lee Florence (Cook) Woolard, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, James, and Clovis, and one sister, Minnie Clanton.

Survivors include: one son, Larry Woolard, of Bentonville, Ark.; one daughter, Cindy Newsom, of Stillwell, Okla.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He received his education at Rocky Comfort, where he graduated from high school. He was a teacher in a one-room school at Bethpage for three years. Most of his life was spent as an advertising salesman for Newton Manufacturing. Four years ago, he moved from Stella to Bentonville, Ark., to make his home. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Stella Masonic Lodge.

Memorial services will be held Friday at Union Cemetery, Stella, under the direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
