Marilyn Kaye Ritchey, 66, of Shell Knob, passed away Monday, May 25, 2009, in her home.

She was born April 1, 1943, in Ray County, the daughter of Vernon and Ruth (Lockamy) Holder. On July 4, 1971, in Liberty, she was united in marriage to Ray Ritchey, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one son, Robert E. Ritchey, of Virginia Beach, Va.; one brother Michael Holder and his wife, Brenda, of Kansas City; and two sisters, Bonnie McGinnis and her husband, glen, of Orrick, and Selby McFee, of Denver, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

She attended Ray County rural schools. She graduated from Excelsior Springs High School. In 1983, she and Ray moved to Shell Knob, where she was office manager and co-owner of Shell Knob Insurance. She was a Cub Scout and Brownie leader. She managed a COPD forum. She was a member of Central Community United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Rev. Dean Wilson conducted the services. A private burial will be in Lawson.

Memorial contribution may be made to the Summer Reading Club at the Shell Knob Library.
