Helen Marie Jones, 90, of Wheaton, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009, in Red Rose of Cassville.

She was born Oct. 30, 1918, in Ridgley, the daughter of George C. and Hattie V. (McQueen) Thomas. On Oct. 10, 1936, she was united in marriage to Curtis M. Jones, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Homer, Loren, Earl, Ralph and Junior; and one sister, Pearl Keeling.

Survivors include: one daughter, Letha Hinkle and her husband, Charles, of Purdy; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

She received her education at Ridgley School and was a lifelong resident of Wheaton. Her church was very important, she was a charter member of the Wheaton Southern Baptist Church, loved missionary work and ministry to shut-ins.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Wheaton Southern Baptist Church under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Burial will be at Concord Cemetery, Exeter. Services will be conducted by Pastor Paul Wahlert, Pastor Richard Buck and Rev. Tony Martin.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.
