James R. "Jim" Durham, 68, of Cassville, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2009, in his home.
He was born Aug. 18, 1940, in Stella, the son of Raymond L. and Ola (Nunn) Durham. On Jan. 1, 1993, he was united in marriage to Jane Still, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Ricky A. Durham and his wife, Christyna, of Haysville, Kan., and Greg Hilburn and his wife, Erica, of Exeter; three daughters, Dianna Raye Bartley, of Muskogee, Okla., Cindy Kay Ortiz, of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Angela Edie and her husband, Robert, of Cassville; three brothers, David Durham, of Humansville, Jerry Durham, of Joplin, and Omer Gene Durham, of Anderson; two sisters, Bernice Harris, of Fairview, and Mary Lynn Burr, of Kansas City; 10 grandchildren; and two great- grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ivan and Norman; and two sisters, Eva Sanders and Delores Cook.
He received his education in Anderson, where he graduated from high school. He worked for Eagle Pitcher for a while and was a butcher in Kansas City and in Pineville. He later owned and operated a grocery store and meat market at Beth Page. For 26 years he was a manager for O'Brien -- Simmons Poultry.
Funeral services were held Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial was at Union Cemetery, Stella.
