Melba Eileen Green, 87, of Cassville, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2009, in Barry County Care Center in Cassville.

She was born Nov. 26, 1921, in a boxcar in Drumright, Okla., to Orion Glenn and Amandaline (Findley) Whitney.

On Dec. 10, 1941, she was united in marriage to Grant Wire Leneaux and to this union two daughters were born. He preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1951.

She was united in marriage to Eulus Herbert Pendergraft. He preceded her in death in 1956.

On May 24, 1960, she was married to Robert William (Bob) Green. He preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1985.

She was a member the Cassville United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker. She volunteered at the Cassville Senior Center and helped Bob with their butchering business.

Survivors include: two daughters, Sophia (Leneaux) Bickford, of Cassville, and Jean (Leneaux) Grubb and her husband, David, of Nevada; one brother, Donald Orion Whitney and his wife, Gloria, of Santee, Calif.; six grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great- grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Doyle Russell conducted the services. Burial was on the family farm.
