Elijah Allen "Lige" Frost, 85, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at St. Andrew's Place in Conway, Ark. He was born Aug. 5, 1923, in Cassville, to Mary and Owen Frost.
In addition to his parents, his wife of 65 years, Marguerite Hurt Frost, preceded him in death.
Survivors include: his daughter, Susan Frost Helm and husband, Hank, of Searcy, Ark., his son, Jack A. Frost and wife, Sarah, of Conway, Ark.; his brother, Kenneth Carr, of Amarillo, Texas; his stepbrother, Jim Rill, of San Jose, Calif.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church in North Little Rock for 59 years. During World War II Lige served in the Army Air Corps and taught radar technology in Del Ray Beach, Fla. He was discharged at the end of the war as a staff sergeant.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church in North Little Rock, Ark. Rev. Richard Mitchell and Rev. John Alston will officiate at the service. A time of visitation and fellowship will follow the service in the fellowship hall.
