Maurice Ivan "Poppy" Beck, 68, of Cassville, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.
He was born Aug. 9, 1940, in Cassville, the son of Erskin "Bud" and Thelma (Chappell) Beck, who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bennett and Ray Beck and five sisters, Ada Gaddy, Georgia Jonson, Marie Shelley, Norma Loveland and Hazel Miller.
Survivors include: two daughters, Donna Smith and her husband, Pete, of Cassville, and Dana Jagger and her husband, Bill, of Cynthiana, Ky.; one brother, Glenn Lyle Beck and his wife, Chris, of Pineville; three sisters, Naomi Patrick, of Rocky ford, Colo., Wilma Harrison and her husband, T.J., of Mulberry, Ark., and Shirley Todd and her husband, Ralph, of Bentonville, Ark.; five grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren.
He received his education in Exeter. He spent his entire life in this area and was a heavy equipment operator for the Flat Creek Road District. He was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial will be at Horner Cemetery, Cassville.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
