Ruby Jewell (Sanders) Ulmer, 78, passed away at her home on Monday, March 9, 2009, at 6:40 a.m.

She was born March 31, 1930, in Barry County. She was the daughter of James E. and Bessie (Brock) Sanders. She was united in marriage to George E. "Huck" Ulmer Dec. 15, 1950, in Eureka Springs, Ark. He preceded her in death in May of 2008.

She is survived by two sons, Eddie Ulmer and his wife, Cheryl, of Purdy, Missouri, and Jimmie Ulmer and his wife, Vicky, of Jasper, Missouri; three daughters, Patty Ulmer, of Olathe, Kansas, Pamela Ellis and her husband, Ed, of Washburn, Missouri, Brenda Ulmer and Andreas Kendall, of Independence, Missouri; one brother, James E. Sanders, Jr. of Exeter, Missouri; one sister, Alfreda Tracy of Indian Lake Estates, Florida; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Bill Sanders, Carl Sanders, Ralph Sanders, Paul Sanders, and Danny Sanders; and three sisters, Pauline Baker, Shirley Betts, and Dorothy Case.

Ruby lived most of her life in Barry County, Missouri, being a homemaker for her family, which was her main priority. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, crafts, and sewing. She also was a creative artist, enjoying cake decorating, drawings, and oil paintings, some of which hung in the area churches. Ruby's most cherished time was spent with family and friends. She was extremely proud of her Native American Heritage and was a member of the Cherokee Nation West. She was also a member of the Butterfield Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Butterfield Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon Friday, March 13, 2009, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, with Doyle Russell, minister, officiating.

Pallbearers will be Podie Beeson, Mike Beeson, George Ulmer, Eric Ulmer, Travis Ulmer, Randy Sanders and Scott Sanders.

Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Butterfield.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Paid
