Frederick Dale "Fred" Lakey, 54, of Washburn, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009, in Northwest Medical Center, Springdale, Ark.
He was born Aug. 11, 1954, in Wichita, Kan., the son of Eugene and Ella (Beede) Lakey. On Dec. 7, 1973, he was united in marriage to Karla Schell, who survives.
Aditional survivors include: three daughters, Stacey Lakey, Heather Lakey and Amanda Serrano, all of Washburn; one brother, Sonny Lakey, of Cassville; four sisters, Druzella Rivera, of Cassville, Gloria Hayworth, of Washburn, and Eupha Gaylen and Nina Giddings, both of Cassville; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Angel, and one brother, Herschel Lakey.
He received his education at Washburn, graduating from Southwest High School. After high school he took two years of drafting and engineering. Most of his life he lived in Washburn, except for 15 years, which he spent in Rogers, Ark. He was a member of Washburn First Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Glenn Erwin conducted the services. Burial was at Washburn Prairie Cemetery.
