Lydia Faye Gillespie, 74, of Rocky Comfort, passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, in Lacoba Nursing Home, Monett.

She was born March 15, 1934, in Gatewood, the daughter of Leander and Lou Ella McArthur. She was united in marriage in Pocahontas, Ark., to Louis Gillespie, who survives.

Additional survivors include: two daughters, Elaine Daniel, of Monett, and Carol Blanton and her husband, John, of Exeter; one brother, James McArthur, of Arnold; two grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerry Gillespie; one daughter, Theresa Gillespie; and three grandchildren.

She received her education at Couch School in Oregon County. Before moving to Rocky Comfort over 30 years ago she resided in Ava. Most of her life was spent as a dairy farmer.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Burial will be at Rocky Comfort Cemetery, Rocky Comfort.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.
