Joe Lee Davidson, 73, of Wheaton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.

He was born Dec. 18, 1935, in Wichita, Kan., the son of Chester and Crystal (Goostree) Davidson. On Aug. 1, 1986, in Fayetteville, Ark., he was united in marriage to Wanda Logan, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one son, Jeff Davidson, of Neosho; three daughters, Melinda Davidson, of Neosho, Tammi Place, of Exeter, and Janet Dixon and her husband, George, of Stella; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry Davidson.

He graduated from Rocky Comfort High School. He received his bachelor's degree in economics from Oklahoma State University. He was a real estate agent and broker for Flat Creek Realty in Cassville. For several years he was owner of Red Oak Farms near Rocky Comfort. He was president of the National Cattlemen's Association, a member of Alpha Gamma Roe Fraternity, the Comfort Masonic Lodge #533, and he was a Shriner.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Prosperity Baptist Church, Rocky Comfort, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday) in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.
