The Southwest Trojans rolled to a stunning 93-54 win over the Sarcoxie Bears on Monday night and set the stage for their epic showdown with Purdy on Friday night at Washburn. Four Trojans scored in double figures against Sarcoxie, led by Josh Hartin with 28 points.
Southwest's Levi Roberts topped the 1,000 point plateau for his career while scoring 23. Roberts entered the game needing 11 points to reach 1,000.
Austin Rettman scored 14 and Skylar Knoll added 13 for the Trojans.
"We shot 31 free throws in the first half," reported Southwest Coach Jason Horn. "It was a long game."
It must have seemed even longer for the Bears, who trailed 61-24 at half and 85-42 after the third quarter.
"This was our most consistent offensive performance of the year," said Horn.
Southwest, with only a loss to McAuley blemishing their conference record, hosts Purdy on Friday night. The Eagles have not lost a conference game this season and have the inside track to another Ozark 7 title.
