Dorthy V. Scribner, 85, of Cassville passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, in Monett Health Care Center, Monett.

She was born June 20, 1923, in Cassville, the daughter of Leonard and Bertha (Patton) Wiseley. On Dec. 11, 1948, in Springdale, Ark., she was united in marriage to Edward "Pat" Scribner, who preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Blaine Wiseley and Harvey Royal Wiseley.

Survivors include: one brother, Doyle Wiseley and his wife, Georgie, of Cleveland, Ark.; and three sisters, Addie Lester, of Cassville, Iris Eden of Aurora, and Inez Long, of Salton Sea Beach, Calif.

She received her education at Cross Hollows School. She then worked for Pat's Café and Doc's Café before marrying Pat. For several years she and Pat lived in various states and spent 25 years in Wichita, Kan. In 1983, they moved to Cassville to make their home. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Butterfield, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Brother Gary Lester conducted the services.
