Paul E. Norvell, 76, of Purdy, passed away Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at Red Rose Inn in Cassville. He was born April 10, 1932, in chicago, Ill., the son of the late Glen and Indianola (McCracken) Norvell. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Lansdown on May 22, 1954, and she preceded him in death august 23, 1994. He later married Mary Higgins on Nov. 16, 1996, and she survives.
He retired from Marsh Engineering in 1993. He was a member of Arnhart Baptist Church, Purdy. He was a past worshipful master of Monett Masonic Lodge. He served in the Korean War.
Additional survivors include: Douglas Norvell and his wife, Janette, of Monett, Ken Norvell and his wife, Cathy, of Raymore, Glenda Gunter and her husband, Terry, of Monett, and Deana Hughes and her husband, Doug, of Wheaton; four stepchildren, Stan Pearce and his wife, Mendy, of Monett, Gary Pearce, of Purdy, Teri Lucas and her husband, Kevin, of Springfield, and susan Pearce, of Purdy; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by is parents, wife, one brother, and one sister.
Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett, with Rev. douglas Norvell officiating. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Butterfield.
