* Trojans take down New Covenant. Last Tuesday, Jan. 20, the Southwest Trojans hit the New Covenant Warriors with a loss, winning by a margin of 53-45. The match was closely played in the first half with the Warriors turning up the heat in the third, but the game was clearly decided in the fourth period when the Trojans lit up the board for a 26-point streak, overshadowing New Cove-nant by 14 points to gain the win. Levi Roberts led the game in scores, tallying 27 points and seven steals for Southwest. In addition, Matthew Whittington and Skylar Knoll were able to contribute one blocked shot apiece for Southwest, and Whittington dominated the boards, pulling down 10 boards for the Trojans.
* Eagles soar above Diamond. The Purdy Eagles downed the Diamond Wildcats 79-51 loss last Tuesday. The Eagles stayed ahead of the Wildcats throughout the game. Purdy hit with destructive accuracy all night long, having five players score in the double-digits. Blake Williams tallied 21 points on the night for Purdy, and Mason Roller added 17, including three baskets from beyond the three-point line.
* Warriors defeat Exeter. The Exeter Tigers felt the sting of defeat when they hosted McAuley last Thursday, Jan. 22. The Warriors came out on top with a 57-45 victory, despite losing the battle in the second and fourth quarters. Ryan Odenbrett was the leading point-getter for the Tigers, accumulating 23 points in all.
