Richard L. "Ace" Cousins, 58, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009.

He was born March 7, 1950, in Burlington, Iowa, to Richard Carl and Faye Nadine (Brookhart) Cousins. He was united in marriage July 29, 1989, in Eldon, Iowa, to Henrietta Howard, who survives.

Additional survivors include: two daughters, Heather Cousins, of New London, Iowa, and Brandy Cousins, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; his mother, Nadine Cousins, of Shell Knob; one brother, Lloyd Cousins and his wife, Debra, of Rochester, N.H.; two sisters, Rita Rud and her husband, Kim, of Shell Knob, and Chris Thurston and her husband, David, of Wolfboro, N.H.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Carl Cousins.

He grew up and received his education in New London, Iowa. He was a carpenter, building homes for a living, as well as, an artist who loved to make picture frames and jewelry boxes.

The body has been cremated under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
