Purdy man dies in crash near Seneca
A Purdy man was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Highway DD three miles southeast of Seneca on Friday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a 2008 International propane truck, driven by Richard Harris, 45, travelled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
Harris was pronounced dead at the scene by Newton County Coroner Mark Bridges. The body was taken to Bennett Wormington Funeral Home in Monett.
The Patrol report indicated that Harris was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred at 12:30 p.m.
Other traffic crashes
* On Saturday, a Pierce City teen was moderately injured in a one-vehicle crash on Highway 97 three miles south of Pierce City. The crash occurred when a 1996 Ford, driven by Calvin Bremer, 19, travelled off the left side of the roadway and struck a Missouri Department of Transportation sign. Bremer was taken to Cox Monett Hospital. The crash occurred at 2:18 p.m.
*A Cassville man sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Farm Road 2200 five miles south of Cassville last Tuesday. The crash occurred when a 1981 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Jamie Brooks, 19, of Cassville, swerved to miss a deer, ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree. Brooks' passenger, Keith Henry, 21, was taken by private vehicle to St. John's Hospital-Cassville. Brooks was not injured in the crash, which occurred at 3:19 p.m.
