Purdy council hears concern from citizen

Friday, January 2, 2009

The Purdy City Council discussed a resident's concern at its regularly scheduled meeting on Dec. 8.

Cathy Wostarek attended the meeting to discuss the insecticide sprayers that city employees are using in the Purdy Community Center. Wostarek explained that she is sensitive to the chemicals, and asked the city to remove the sprayers from the community building.

After listening to Wostarek's concern, the aldermen discussed the possibility of replacing the sprayers with an electric insect killer. The issue was taken under advisement, but no decision was made during the December meeting.

In other business, the Purdy City Council:

* Reviewed written public works and police department reports.

* Heard that the Missouri Department of Transportation replaced stop signs on Highway C.

* Tabled a trailer park ordinance.

* Heard that all city council members are up for re-election due to resignations that occurred during the last year.
