Bobby Ray "Bob" Lauderdale, 79, of Cassville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.

He was born Oct. 3, 1929, in Exeter, the son of Rev. Loren Rhea and Helen Quincy (Cole) Lauderdale. On Sept. 4, 1950, he was united in marriage to Ella Dean Price, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one son, Larry Lauderdale, of Midland, Texas; two daughters, Patricia Daugherty of Nixa, and Jana Joeckel, of Exeter; one sister, Colleen Grosvenor, of Jamestown; six grandchildren eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Bobby Sue Joeckel.

He graduated from Rocky Comfort High School. He served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper with the 508th Airborne Company C and was honorably discharged Feb. 8, 1957. He returned to Barry County where he worked for Gary Keen farming, North American Van Line, Hutchens Construction and Exeter Coop. He was also a licensed plumber.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Cassville.

Funeral services were held Friday at the Cassville United Methodist Church under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Lee Porch and Rev. Charles Lauderdale will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
