Gary Lynn Brown, 56, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at his home in Mammoth Springs, Ark., He was born March 23, 1952, to Burtram Garold and Mary "Maxine" (Jones) Brown at Neosho.
He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Neosho when he was baptized at 8 years of age. He graduated with the class of 1970 from Harrisonville, Missouri High School. From 1972 until 1974 he served his country in the United States Army at Seoul, South Korea, as a medic.
On Nov. 15, 1993, in Memphis, Tenn., he was united in marriage to Diane Van Deest, who preceded him death on June 28, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his father Bertram Garold Brown and maternal grandparents, Lois and Homer Payne and paternal grandparents, Bert and Libby Brown.
Survivors include: his mother, Mary Maxine Brown Raines and her husband, Paul of Garden City; a sister, Gail Brown Horn and her husband, Tom, of Lehigh, Okla.; step-brothers, Ronnie Raines and his wife, Marcia, of Archie, and Bill Raines and his wife, Monica, of Kansas City; mother-in-law, Dorothy Van Deest, of Memphis, Tenn.; Funeral services were held Monday in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Burial was at Union Cemetery, Stella.
