MARY E. WALTRIP

Mary, E. Waltrip, 77, of Monett, passed at at 12:20 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2008, at Lacoba Nursing Home, Monett, Missouri. She was born March 28, 1931, in Purdy, Missouri, the daughter of the late Sam and Lucy (Loyd) Schaffer. She was united in marriage to Melvin Waltrip on March 10, 1947. He preceded her in death December 24, 1992.

Mary retired from Con-Ag Foods in Carthage, Missouri. She was a member of the New Site Baptist Church, Monett, Missouri.

She is survived by: two daughters, Kathleen Stark, of Weabieau, Missouri, and Liz Tuell, of Monett, Missouri; five sons, Melvin E. Waltrip, of aurora, Missouri, Wayne J. Waltrip, of Carthage, Missouri, George S. Waltrip, of Purdy, Missouri, William J. Waltrip, and Marvin H. Waltrip, both of Monett, Missouri; four sisters, Lucy Waltrip, Zelby loyd and Effie Rice, all of Monett, Missouri, and Lucinda Eden, of Purdy, Missouri; several grandchildren, a bunch of great-grandchildren; and a few great-great-grandchildren.

along with her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by one brother, George Shaffer and one sister, Dorothy Williams.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 24, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett, Missouri, with Rev. Aaron Wieble officiating. Burial was at Oakdale Cemetery, Monett, Missouri.

Arrangements were under the care of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett, Missouri.
