Gweneth Elaine Wright, 77, of Holiday Island, Ark., formerly of Eagle Rock, passed away suddenly Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, in St. John's Hospital in Berryville, Ark.
She was born in Waukesha, Wis., Jan. 30, 1931, the daughter of Reed Wilson and Hazel Marie (Dodrill) Wade, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Horace M. Wright in Greensburg, Kan., on Feb. 7, 1953.
Survivors include: her husband of 55 years, Horace; two sons, Mark Wright and his wife, Debbie, of Canyon Creek, Mont., and Bill Wright and his wife, Vicki, of Calif.; and three grandchildren.
She grew up and received her education in Waukesha, Wis., where she graduated from high school. She was the manager and bookkeeper for Ace Hardware Store in Newton, Kan., for many years.
She and Horace moved to Eagle Rock from New Mexico in 1992. They moved to Holiday Island, Ark., three years ago. She was a member of All Faith United Methodist Church, Eagle Rock, and the Rebekah Lodge of Odd Fellows in Kansas.
Funeral services were held Sunday in All Faith United Methodist Church, Eagle Rock, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Nancy Wilson conducted the services.
Funeral services were also held Tuesday in Randolph Funeral Home, Seymour, Iowa. Pastor Kay Singley conducted the services. Burial was at Promise City Cemetery, Promise City, Iowa.
