R-V School Board tables roof repair bids
The Southwest R-V School Board tabled two bids for repairs to the high school gymnasium and commons area roof at its regularly scheduled meeting on Oct. 9.
The board received a $10,690 bid from Meyer Roofing and Sheetmetal. The bid was for a Garnite Roofing System with around 675 feet of wall flashings, a ridge cap, valleys, 10 pipes and 13 assorted air handlers.
The board also received a $25,000 bid from Nabholz. The bid includes plans to clean and reseal the wall flashing, lap seams, roof curbs and a pipe vent. Nabholz also plans to replace bagging insulation and repair the cap flashing at the gymnasium wall and dining hall.
After reviewing the bids, the board voted to table the bids until Branco, which constructed the original roof, is contacted and a legal opinion is obtained.
The board also hired five substitute teachers and appointed special services director Wanda Smith to the position of homeless coordinator for the 2008-09 school year. New substitute teachers include: Kim Patrick; Melinda Ross; Tina Mills; Ashley Thompson; and Andria Porch.
