Woman reports break-in, assault

On Nov. 7, at 1:37 a.m. Monett Police received a 911 call from a female stating she was the victim of a home invasion and sexual assault. The woman lives in the southern part of Lawrence County.

Monett Police, Lawrence County deputies and emergency medical technicians responded to the residence. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She was later transferred to a Springfield hospital.

The victim was a 25-year-old Hispanic female who was home alone at the time of the attack.

The suspect was unknown to the victim. He is described as a white male in his early 20s and heavy set.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department is investigating the attack. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call 417-466-2131.
