The Cassville FFA Chapter and FFA Booster Club will host the 2008 FFA Greenhand Celebration and banquet on Friday, Nov. 16. This celebration marks the beginning step in a journey through the FFA program.
At the Greenhand Celebration, students who have completed the first step in this process will be recognized. The event will also provide parents of these students with valuable information on how FFA can support and help create leaders not only in the agriculture world but in life in general.
Today, FFA is not just about farms and livestock but also includes entrepreneurship education, mechanics, welding, floriculture, science and many facets of the business world with a focus on programs that benefit the agricultural world.
Parents are an integral part of the FFA program, and the Booster Club supports the FFA program by providing funds for scholarships, travel, convention and banquets. The FFA Booster Club is made up of parents as well as community and civic leaders.
During the Greenhand Celebration, parents of the students will be able to participate by pinning their child's Greenhand pin on them and helping them start their record books.
Anyone interested in the promotion of agri-business or programs in the Cassville area is invited to attend. A hog roast meal will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the celebration ceremony will start at 7:15 p.m.
