He was united in marriage to Rose Sims on aug. 15, 1963. She survives.
Additional survivors include: two sisters, Virginia Prewitt, of Exeter and Ruth Stephens, of Cassville; one brother, Lester Prewitt, of Ridgley; four daughters, Diane Dunn, of Rocheport, Lynn Barber and her husband, Jerry, of Rocheport, and Leann Meadow-Blake and her husband, Kenneth, of Gordo, Ala., and Dee Dee Earnhart, of columbia; one son, Terry Prewitt, of New Franklin; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Finis Cleveland Prewitt, Sr. and mother, Loie Nita Stephenson Prewitt; four brothers, Franky Ray, Bethel, bob and Gene Prewitt; and two sisters, Odean Sinders and Eva May Higgs.
He was a member of the Midway Heights Baptist church.
He had worked in many occupations; drywall, carpet, meat processor, salesman, custodian and as a driver for Joe Machens Ford of Columbia.
A memorial service was held Saturday at Midway Heights Baptist Church with Bro. David Schawo officiating.
Another memorial service will be held Sunday, Nov. 9 at 1:30 p.m. at the Ridgley Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
Arrangements were under the direction of Parker Funeral Service, Columbia.
