The TLC/VFW will be compiling its next care package mailing on Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Shell Knob VFW.
Names and addresses have been received for 270 Missouri National Guard soldiers currently deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, but is still accepting additional names and addresses. That information can be e-mailed to Abby Hardin at email@example.com.
The group is also accepting donations for its care packages. Suggested items include: hand warmers; hand/body wipes; trial-size toiletries; fleece blankets; Christmas cards; bandanas; cotton gloves; knit caps/hats; powdered drinks; beef jerky; packaged snacks; and homemade treats.
All donations are being accepted at the Shell Knob VFW Post on Thursday mornings and Sunday afternoons, the Shell Knob Senior Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the Eagle Rock All Faith Methodist Church on Monday through Thursday mornings before 11 a.m. Baked or homemade goods should be delivered the night of packing to the Shell Knob VFW.
Monetary donations for postage can be mailed to: TLC Military Support Group, P.O. Box 634, Shell Knob, MO 65747 or can be taken directly to the Table Rock Federal Credit Union and deposited in the group's account.
