CHS runners medal at Big 8 Conference meet

The Cassville Wildcats had a good showing at the Big 8 Conference meet on Saturday at East Newton. Four Cassville High School runners medaled and earned All-Big 8 Conference recognition.

Gage Holloway finished 14th at the Big 8 meet, posting a time of 18:43. He was named to the All-Big 8 team following his performance.

Jessica Barrientos led the Cassville girls. She finished fifth in a time of 21:40. Her showing resulted in All-Big 8 first team honors.

Other Ladycat medalists were seniors Tia Baker and Courtney Baker. The pair finished in 10th and 13th place respectively and both girls earned All-Big 8 second team honors. Baker finished the race in 22:09 and Beagle posted a time of 22:52.

The girls team finished third overall behind East Newton and Carl Junction.

"Our kids ran well," said Coach Chris Shore. "We had several runners who ran personal bests."
