Mary Ellen Planchon, 91, of Monett, passed away Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at cox Monett Hospital. She was born Aug. 5, 1917, in Galena, the daughter of Samual Henry and Ula (Elizabeth) Scott. She was united in marriage to Arthur ethridge in October, 1936, and he preceded her in death June 20, 1956.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, Monett, and was the oldest living member of the church.

Survivors include: one daughter, Mary Evelyn Sekavec, of Mt. Ida, Ark.; two brothers, Joe Nelson, of Pierce city, and Charlie Nelson, of Monett; three sisters, Marie Vantuyel, of Phoenix, Ariz., Eva Mae McClean, of Post Falls, Idaho, and Betty Land, of Monett; a sister-in-law, Patsy Nelson; two grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; and three great- great-grandchildren,

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett, with Rev. Chris Carver and Rev. Ronnie Howerton officiating. Burial was at Liberty Cemetery, Monett.
