The Cassville Rotary Club is inviting area residents to drop off their old eyeglasses at the Rotary booth during this Saturday's Fall Festival and Chili Cook-Off in Cassville.
The eyeglasses will be sent to a group of Rotarians who will be going to the country of Chile to provide eyeglasses to children who have never had the opportunity to view the world with corrective lenses.
The Cassville Rotary Club will also be accepting donations of quarters for the PolioPlus program. Rotarians across the world have been fighting to eradicate polio from the world for the past 20 years. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation have recently challenged Rotarians to match up to $100 billion over the next two years to completely rid the world of the disease.
"Please help us do our small part in helping with these two worthy projects during the Chili Cook-Off this weekend," said Brad Hanson, Cassville Rotary Club president.
