Chamber to host Halloween event

Thursday, October 23, 2008

The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce's annual "Halloween Around the Square" will take place from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31.

Downtown merchants will participate by handing out treats at their stores during the event. Cassville Rotarians will also be present at the event to give away 20 $5 bills to "best dressed" winners.

Small children should be accompanied around the square by an adult. Chamber officials ask that adults not wear masks during the parade.

Children should assemble in the Hutchens Construction parking lot on Main Street where they will be met by Cassville Police Chief Lonnie McCullough who will lead them around the downtown area. Merchants are asked to refrain from giving out treats until Officer McCullough arrives.

Last year, about 1,500 children participated last year. For more information about Halloween Around the Square, call the chamber office at 847-2814.
