Purdy man injured in one-vehicle crash

A Purdy man was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash on Highway 97 five miles west of Purdy last Wednesday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a 2002 Ford pickup, driven by Charles Knatcal, 40, ran off the roadway and struck a tree.

Knatcal was airlifted to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. The Patrol report indicated that Knatcal was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred at 9:45 p.m.

Other traffic crashes

* Last Tuesday, two Exeter teens were moderately injured in a one-vehicle crash on County Road 1157 five miles east of Cassville. The crash occurred as a 1991 Isuzu Trooper, driven by Kayla Newman, 18, began skidding around a curve. Newman overcorrected and the vehicle struck a tree. Newman and her passenger, Alixandrea Eisenbraun, 16, were taken by ambulance to St. John's Hospital-Cassville. The crash occurred at 5:25 p.m.
