Post 118 to hold annual fall meeting

Thursday, October 16, 2008

Irwin-Easley Post 118 will hold an annual fall American Legion baseball meeting on Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. in the Barry County Museum meeting room. Parents whose sons are interested in playing American Legion baseball next summer should plan to attend.

Post 118 intends to field two teams next summer. There will be an AA team for younger players and an AAA team for older players. AA players must be age 17 or younger, and AAA players can be 19 if their birthday falls after Jan. 1, 1990. Legion officials anticipate that a total of 30 boys will comprise the two teams.

Post 118 has placed second place in districts three out of the last four years.

Currently two players from last year's Legion squad play college baseball. Kason Koelsch plays for NEO College and Michael Baker plays at Meramec Community College.
