For the second straight season, the Southwest JV volleyball team won the consolation title in the McAuley Tourney. Rachael Colf had 10 service points, three attacks and three aces to lead the Lady Trojans past Seneca in three sets.

In pool play, Southwest tied College Heights and lost to Carthage. The Lady Trojans now have an overall record of 2-17-3.

"The girls took an important step Saturday," said Coach Steve Voyak. "After losing the first set against Seneca, they looked flustered, but they regrouped for the victory."

In varsity action, Southwest lost to College Heights and McAuley Catholic to drop its season record to 6-18-3 overall and 2-3 in the Ozark 7 Conference.

"We have four games to get ready for the district," Voyak said. "We're need leadership and a positive attitude from the entire team if we want to finish strong."

District pairings will be released later this week. The Lady Trojans finish the regular season with four home matches against Blue Eye and Purdy this week and Exeter and Sarcoxie next week.
