Help local Scouts do a very good deed

Thursday, October 9, 2008

Dear Editor:

Doing a good deed has always been part of being a Cub Scout. But when Cassville Cub Scout Pack 76 found that Sam Lane, dad of Webelos II Scout Cory Lane and Bears Scout Ryan Lane, had been diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma, they wanted to help in a big way.

Cory and Ryan are part of our Cub Scout family and the Scouts are determined to "Do Their Best" in helping them and their dad in this time of need.

Pack 76, with the help of their leaders, have organized an auction to take place on Nov. 2. In order to make this auction a success, they need donations of items to be auctioned. They will take any donations large or small, new or used, clean furniture, appliances, collectible cars, gift certificates, lumber, hardware, tools, crafts, decor, etc. . .

If you have any items you would like to donate, please call 417-652-3232, 846-3288, 271-1208 or 342-0236. Leave a message if there is no answer at these numbers. We are also holding a drawing for a Mathews Ignition youth bow. The drawing will be held on Nov. 2. Tickets are available from any leader at the phone numbers above, at Rafter E Feeds and at the Cub Scouts' booth at the Chili Cook-Off.

Thank you for your help, support and donations. Most of all thank you for helping the Scouts to make a good deed, great for part of their Scout family.
