Cassville attorney moving law practice
David Payne will be joining his law practice with Mark Stephens effective Oct. 13. The law firm formed by Payne and Stephens will be Stephens & Payne, LLC.
For the past 10 years, Payne has been a partner in the Cassville law firm of Cardin & Payne where Payne has obtained extensive experience in civil litigation and family law.
Stephens has practiced in Aurora for the last 10 years and is currently running for election as the Republican candidate for Stone County Associate Circuit Judge.
"It is with great excitement that I announce my move to Aurora," said Payne. "For the past 10 years, my law practice has been focused on serving the legal needs of those in southwest Missouri, primarily Lawrence, Barry and Stone counties. I look forward to continuing that in Aurora."
Payne is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Law, University of Central Missouri and Cassville High School. Payne is also a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys and a past president of the 39th Judicial Circuit Bar Association. Payne and his wife, Shanna, live in Aurora with their three children.
"David is a man of character, faith and integrity," said Stephens. "Asking someone to become a part of my law practice and a member of this firm was an important decision. We are proud to have David, and I know that my clients will be pleased with the decision to make David a member of our firm and a member of the local legal community."
The law firm of Stephens and Payne, LLC will be located at the present location of Stephens' law practice at the Aurora Professional Center, located at 1402 S. Elliot.
Payne will be taking cases in many areas of the law, including general civil litigation, family law, business, real estate, injury and minor criminal offenses.
