Thursday, October 9, 2008

The Exeter City Council accepted the resignation of Alderman Brenda Adkins at its regularly scheduled meeting on Sept. 16.

Adkins submitted her resignation after deciding to relocate to Arkansas. The council made no decision regarding filling the vacant seat.

The aldermen also voted to transfer the interest that has accumulated on one of its certificates of deposits (CDs) to the sewer and water account. The transfer was scheduled to be made on Sept. 30. The original $13,000 investment will remain in the CD account.

In other business, the Exeter City Council approved the bank reconciliations, reviewed the current bank balances and voted to pay the August bills as presented.
