Cassville runners compete well at East Newton meet

A pair of Ladycat runners medaled at the recent East Newton Invitational cross country meet.

Tia Baker medalled in 13th place with a time of 21:35. Jessica Barrientos followed right behind, finishing 16th with a time of 21:48.

Top finishers for Cassville in the boys' division were Jeremy Ashwell, who placed 34th in a time of 18:36, and Gage Holloway, who placed 35th in a time of 18:38.

In the middle school division, Torri Holder placed 13th out of 180 runners with a time of 10:40 on the shortened course. On the boys' side, Cole Beagle placed 31st with a time of 10:21 and Cody Stehlik finished in 39th place with a 10:38 finish.

"Our teams ran well," said Coach Chris Shore. "We set a lot of personal records."

This coming Monday, Oct. 13, Cassville will host its annual cross country meet, which takes place at the city's South Park.
