Aval Queeta Bruton, 96, of Cassville, formerly Golden, passed away Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, in Red Rose Inn of Cassville.

He was born March 19, 1912, in Golden, the son of Minnie Bruton. On Jan. 1, 1941, in Eureka Springs, Ark., he was united in marriage to, Katie Cooper, who preceded him in death on April 12, 1983. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Vonda and Yonda.

Survivors include: two sons, Louie Bruton and his wife, Linda, and Randy Bruton and his wife, Janet, of Golden; two daughters, Queeta Winters and her husband, Loren, of Ozark, and Sherry Bland and her husband, Gene, of Eureka Springs, Ark.; a brother, Wilbur Brown of Warsaw; a sister, Lola Weems and her husband, McKinley, of Eureka Springs, Ark.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He graduated from high school in Cassville and was a lifelong resident of the Golden area. He was a farmer and land developer. A grandson is living on property he owned, which has become a century-farm. For several years he served on the Golden School Board and was also road commissioner for Golden. He was a member of the Golden Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial will be at Viney Creek Cemetery, Golden. Pastor Doyle Russell will conduct the services.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
