Doctor Robert "Bob" E. Bogue passed away on Friday, Oct. 3, 2008.

He was born Sept. 16, 1923, to Dr. Joseph and Louise Bogue in Greensburg, Kan. He spent 69 years of his life in Wichita, Kan. He was the oldest of five children, four boys and one girl. After graduating, he joined the Marine Corp and served in the Pacific as a mechanic on the fighter F6F with the 533 Marine Nightfighter Squadron. He married Betty Young in 1946. She preceded him in death in 1996.

He graduated from KSU with a degree in veterinary medicine in 1952. He spent a year in residency at Cornell University where he specialized in small animal surgery.

He was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church in Wichita, Kan., and attended the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Shell Knob.

In 1997, Bob married Glenna Swank/Forbes. A great granddaughter, Nina, joined their home in 1998.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and two brothers, Richard and Jim.

Survivors include: his wife, Glenna; great-granddaughter, Nina; sons, Michael and his wife, Nam, and Patric; daughter, Kathi and husband, Rex Acker; stepsons, Lewis and his wife, Shirley Forbes and Marty and wife, Beth Forbes; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; one sister, Jo and husband, Bud Baden; and one brother, Jerry and wife, Kristie.

Memorial services were held Tuesday in Trinity Presbyterian Church, Shell Knob. Pastor Chris Williams conducted the services.

Cremation arrangements were under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
