Regional 5K, 10K race in Monett attracts runners

The Monett Area YMCA hosted the Monett Midway Regional 5K and 10K Race on Sept. 20, attracing 169 walkers and runners to the event.

Overall winners in the male and female divisions in the 5K race were: Bridgette Edghill, 18, of Ballwin, 23:10.8; and Lullel Hickman, 46, of Morrisville, 17:57.9. Overall winners in the 10K race were: Jennifer Wimberley, 24, of Monett, 47:39.2; and Richard Leiboult, 51, of Ozark, 36:35.3.

These four runners won $500 savings bonds from Community National Bank of Monett and First State Bank of Monett.

Top finishers from the Barry County area in the 5K race are listed below by division.

* Females 14 and under: Madeleine Weber, of Monett, second; and Ashley Painter, of Verona, third.

* Males 14 and under: Spencer Crossland, of Monett, first; Joshua Brown, of Monett, second; and Wayne Foster, of Monett, third.

* Male 15 to 19: Jake Washeck, of Monett, first.

* Male 20 to 29: Kevin Wimberley, of Monett, second; and Benjamin Craig, of Cassville, third.

* Female 30 to 39: Maria Moncivaiz, of Monett, third.

* Male 30 to 39: Jeremy Anderson, of Monett, second; and Shannon Henson, of Exeter, third.

* Male 40 to 49: Alan Cook, of Monett, second; and Troy Schliem, of Monett, third.

* Female 20 to 29: Angela Pederson, of Monett, second; and Sarah Bowling, of Monett, third.

* Female 50 to 59: Skip Mourglia, of Monett, second; and Kitty Atkinson, of Seligman, third.

* Female 60 to 69: Letha Hinkle, of Purdy, second.

* Female 70 and over: Pauline Kelley, of Monett, first.

Barry County winners in the 10K race were:

* Female 20 to 29: Erin Hunt, of Monett, first.

* Male 20 to 29: Brian Lipscomb, of Monett, second.

* Female 30 to 39: Jennifer Evans, of Cassville, first; Nicole Weber, of Monett, second; and Gwen Fillinger, of Monett, third.

* Male 30 to 39: Eric Merriman, of Monett, third.

* Female 40 to 49: Dawn Cope, of Cassville, third.
