Golmer E. Casad, 72, of Purdy, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at his daughter's home in Purdy.

He was born on March 12, 1936, in Escondido, Calif. He was the son of Ralph and Alice (Christenson) Casad. He graduated high school in Escondido, Calif., on June 11, 1954. He served in the United States Army from Aug. 20, 1958, till Aug. 31, 1964. He married Verna May Ray in Lompoc, Calif., May 11, 1963.T

hey moved to Sandy, Ore., where they raised their family. They moved to Purdy in 1995. Verna preceded him in death on March 7, 2008. He was a lifelong mechanic.

Survivors include: one son, Colin Casad, of Eagle Creek, Ore.; one daughter, Virginia Foster, of Purdy; two grandsons; two brothers, Gene Casad, and his wife, Betty, of Whitesboro, Texas, and Lee Casad, and his wife, Sue, of Escondido, Calif.; and two sisters, Martha Baker, and her husband, Glenn, of Salem, Ore., and May Ann Compos, of Garner, N. C.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date at the Monett Odd Fellows Cemetery in Monett.
