Last Monday the Wildcats' JV team played a hard fought game against the Tigers at Prairie Grove, Ark.
Prairie Grove took control of the game in the second quarter, putting the first points on the scoreboard to make it an 8-0 game. Cassville responded when Bo Blisard and Rocky Young were able to connect for a long touchdown pass. Unfortunately, a failed two-point conversion left the score at 8-6 going into half time.
The Wildcats came out in the third quarter and took control of the game when Seth Myers scored a touchdown This time the two-point conversion was good, giving Cassville a 14-8 lead.
The Tigers were able to answer with their own third quarter score to tie up the game at 14-14.
Despite the good performance of the Cassville offense, no more points were scored by the Wildcats in the fourth quarter.
The Wildcat defense held the Tigers off until the final seconds of the game, when Prairie Grove gained control of the ball and managed to complete a long touchdown pass into the end zone. Their successful two-point conversion ended the game with a final score of 22-14 in the host's favor.
The JV squad played Aurora at home on Monday night and are set to host Lamar on Sept. 29.
