Wilma Lea Hines, 84, of Cassville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, in her home.

She was born Nov. 17, 1923, in Holdenville, Okla., the daughter of Bates and Mary Lou (Page) Loftis. On Nov. 2, 1943, in Carlsbad, N.M., she was united in marriage to Melvin Hines, who survives.

Additional survivors include: a son, Larry Bruce Hines and his wife, Marjorie, of Wheaton; two brothers, Wayne Loftis, of San Jose, Calif., and J.B. Wilson of Grants Pass, Ore.; and one grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and three sisters.

Wilma received her education in Olton, Texas. She was a homemaker along with her jobs as a beautician, bookkeeper and schoolteacher's aide. She served as local PTA president for many years and was den Mother for her son's Cub Scouts troop. She was a long-time member of Wheaton Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Church of Christ, Wheaton, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville. Services will be conducted by Harold Reeves.

The family will receive friends from noon until service time Thursday in the Wheaton Church of Christ.
