Roy Russell Rowden, Sr., 73, of Cassville, passed away Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, in his home.
He was born June 11, 1935, in Niangua, the son of Russell and Olga (Hall) Rowden, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Rowden and one sister, Ruby Joiner.
Survivors include: three sons, Roy Rowden, Jr. and his wife, Rhonda, of Exeter, Wesley Rowden, of Cassville, and Steve Rowden and his wife, Tammy, of Exeter; three daughters, Karen Snook and her husband, Jack, of Exeter, Connie Ford, of Cassville, and Lorna Doss and her husband, Mike, of Monett; four sisters, Margie Latimer, of Grain Valley, Edna Smith, of Wellington, Shirley Sleyster, of Independence, and Nola Terrill, of Springville, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He received his education at Marshfield where he graduated from high school. He served in the United States Air Force. For several years he resided in Wichita, Kan., where he was employed as an upholsterer for Monarch. He moved from Marshfield to Barry County 36 years ago to make his home.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Graveside services were held Tuesday at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Jerry Yarnall conducted the services.
