The Seligman City Council reviewed the August police department report at its regularly scheduled meeting on Sept. 8. The report documented 46 speeding citations that were issued last month.
Other citations documented in the August police report included: one helmet violation; two driving with a suspended or revoked license violations; one driving without a valid license violation; one failure to maintain proof of insurance violation; and three failure to maintain right-of-way violations.
The Seligman Police Department made two driving while intoxicated arrests, three warrant arrests, two arrests for driving with a suspended or revoked license and one arrest each for marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia possession and child endangerment. Officers also responded to 26 service calls.
In other business, the Seligman City Council:
* Heard that the fall festival will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10 and the annual Christmas parade will be held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 13.
* Tabled a discussion on purchasing a credit card machine.
* Approved a contract that will allow the Seligman Fire Protection District to lease a portion of city property for 40 years at a cost of $1 per year. The total lease amount must be paid in advance.
